“2nd DHI User Conference - Italy”, Torino, Italy, 10 & 11 October, 2007
More than 100 DHI Software Users from the Italian water sector including representatives from governmental agencies, regional and local water bodies, research institutions and universities, professional bodies and engineering companies, urban water utilities gathered in Torino, Italy to attend the “2nd DHI Software User Conference - Italy” during the days October 10 and 11. The Intecno-DHI office in Turin was the organizer.
The “2nd DHI User Conference - Italy” combined a large number of different activities throughout the 2 days:
- user presentations by important Italian clients like ARPA Piemonte & Emilia-Romagna, Regione Piemonte, Università di Bologna & Basilicata, CIMA, Water Authority of Friuli-Venezia Giulia river basin, etc.
- specialized sessions on innovative applications and techniques presented by DHI & Intecno-DHI experts
- overviews of the new features and potentialities of releases 2007 and 2008;
- book-an-expert arrangements
- half-day training courses
23 user presentations and practical, real-life applications of the MIKE software formed the backbone of the Conference. Simple applications as well as highly complex and advanced techniques within the marine, urban and water resources sectors were presented. During the second day DHI & Intecno-DHI experts showed a number of innovative applications focussing on
- techniques for sediment transport management in reservoirs
- thermal hydraulic simulations
- marine water forecast and improving marine modelling by Data Assimilations.
The half-day training sessions, which aimed at guiding participants through the new features of the MIKE software, was attended by more than 30 current and future users of the software.
