Japanese ECO Lab Research Group Founded

Alpha Hydraulic Engineering Company - agent for DHI Marine Software in Japan - has initiated the founding of an independent Japanese ECO Lab Research Group (ELRG), which has as its mission to conduct ecological research based on the new, open ECO Lab tool.

Dr. Kawamori, President of Alpha, welcomed representatives from 13 research organisations to the founding meeting of the research group in Tokyo on October 22.

The ELRG elected Prof. Tadashi Yamada as the first Chairman.

The ELRG will meet and exchange research results and ideas regularly.

The ELRG also decided on the statutes of the ELRG. The group is open to qualified individual researchers, who agree on the objectives of the ELRG.

22 students from the participating universities received 1 1/2 days intensive training on the 22nd and 23rd. Hopefully, their research will benefit from the new modeling tools!
